William Jackson

October 13, 1941 — February 28, 2016

SHELBY- William “Steve” Jackson, 74, died Sun., Feb. 28, 2016, at his home. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late William Kendrick and Hazel Hughey Jackson. Steve served in the army, was a member of Westview Baptist Church, retired from Hoechst Celanese after 33 years of service, and loved college sports and his grandchildren.

PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Jackson

SURVIVED: He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Loretta Young Jackson of the home; sons, Chris Jackson and wife Michele of Greensboro, and Bryan Jackson and wife Christie of Grover; daughter, Kelly Vickers and husband Dale of Lawndale; brother, Daniel Jackson and wife Reiko of Hampton, VA; grandchildren, Mitchell and Kendall Jackson, Kyle Upchurch and wife Seirra, Jada Terwilliger and husband Larry, Nikki Ivie , Tanner Vickers, Christopher White and wife Katie, and Maysa Jackson; great-grandchildren, Kaden Nontell, Thomas and Elizabeth Burton, Kalyana Upchurch

FUNERAL SERVICES: Funeral services will be held 11am, Thursday, at Westview Baptist Church

VISITATION: The family will receive friends Wednesday, 6-8pm, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home

BURIAL: will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park

CLERGY: Dr. Rick Bowling
