POLKVILLE - William “Bill” Fredrick Souders, 75, of Polkville, passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. A native of The Dalles, Wash., he was born March 27, 1939, son of the late Albert Fredrick and Nina Mae Hamby Souders.
He was actively involved with Parents without Partners, dancing, playing bingo, fishing, and telling stories (both true and untrue). He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving in the time of peace between the Korean and the Vietnam wars.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Cathy Ann Souders; and a sister, Edith Campbell
He is survived by a special companion, Kathleen Wilson of Polkville; one son, Robert Souders and wife Maggie of Polkville; one daughter, Jenny Havens of Reno, Nev.; sons, Ernie Souders and wife Cynthia of Reno, Nev., Bill Souders of Vancouver, Wash., and Trent Souders of Camas, Wash.; one sister, Eileen Davis and her husband Don of Washington State; twelve grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation: The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
Celebration of life service: 2 p.m. Saturday in the Chapel of Clay-Barnette Funeral Home, with military honors.
