PERSONAL HISTORY: Born in Gaston County to the late Henry Walter and Annie Faile Williams, he was a member of Wesleyan First Church, was retired as an insurance salesman, and served in the U.S. Army.
PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: in addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nora Edna Williams, two sisters, Katherine Heavner and Marie Gilreath and a brother, Charlie Williams.
SURVIVORS: Son and his wife, Bill Williams and Diane of Polkville, Daughter and her husband, Patsy Lee and John of Shelby, Seven grandchildren, Michelle Lee, of Shelby, Christopher Williams and wife, Laura of Cooleemee, John Lee, Jr. and wife, Sara and Kelli Lee, all of Shelby, U.S. Marine Travis Williams, stationed in Iraq, Mitchell Williams and Haley Williams, both of Polkville, three great grandchildren, Allie Williams, Jada Lee and Landon Williams, a stepson, Donnie Williams and wife, Debra of Kings Mountain, a stepdaughter, Jean Maxwell Jones and husband, Ralph of Lavonia, Georgia and special friend, Mary Jo.
