MOORESBORO- Mr. William Neal Blanton, 70 of 2717 College Farm Rd., died Saturday, September 1, 2007 at his daughter’s home in Kings Mountain. A native of York County, SC, he was a son of the late William Clyde and Ocie Mae Whisnant Blanton. He was retired from cabinet making and served in the Air Force. Mr. Blanton was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. He volunteered for the Crossroads Rescue Mission and for the Organic Kidz, a division of the 4-H Club in Boiling Springs.
PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Burl “B.W.” William Blanton.
SURVIVORS: He is survived by his wife, Betty Jean “B.J.” Ledford Blanton of Shelby; a son, Steven Neal Blanton of Kings Mountain; two daughters, Sandy Jones and Tracy Pullen, both of Kings Mountain; a brother, Harold Dean Blanton and wife, Norma Jane of Shelby; a sister, Ruth B. Sarratt of Mooresboro; seven grandchildren; and five great- grandchildren.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends immediately following the graveside service at Cleveland Memorial Park.
FUNERAL: A graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at Cleveland Memorial Park.
