SHELBY- Mrs. Yvonne Thebault Nuhrah, 84, of 715 Buford St., passed away on Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at home. She was born March 1, 1923 in New Orleans, the daughter of the late Julien and Leonie Perotin Thebault.
She was a life-long Catholic and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Shelby. She worked for the U.S. Government and later for Cleveland Community College where she taught crafts for 20 years.
PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Dr. Arthur George Nuhrah, and her sister, Jeanine Thebault.
SURVIVORS: She is survived by two daughters, Yvonne Burr and her husband Ted of Shelby, and Annette Spurling of Mooresboro; a son, George “Chip” Nuhrah and his wife Stephanie of Shelby; three sisters-in-law, May Cazenave of Lynn Haven, Florida, Ramona Duhy and husband Frederick of Arabi, Louisana, and Esther Nuhrah of Oak Ridge, Tennessee; two special cousins, Irene Fonteneau of Nantes, France,and Michelle Muller of Orvault, France ; two special aunts-in-law, Leonie Khoury and Elaine Khoury, both of Lake Charles, Louisiana; four grandchildren, Bo Wagner and wife Dana of Polkville, Jacob and Sabrina Spurling of Mooresboro, and Moriah Nuhrah of Shelby; and three great-grandchildren, Caleb, Karis, and Alethia Wagner of Polkville.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends tonight (9/12) from 7-9:00pm at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home, and at other times at the home.
FUNERAL: A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am, Thursday (9/13) at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
BURIAL: Entombment will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park.
