Zula Owens

SHELBY: Zula Mae Craig Owens, 90, died Friday, January 6, 2023 at Fair Haven of Forest City. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late John and Junie Butler Craig. Zula retired from Dover Textiles and was a longtime member of Shelby Freewill Baptist Church, later attending Crestview Baptist Church. She had a great love for her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Clifford Owens; sons, Wayne and Jerry Owens; and eight brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Gail Ellis; son, Randy Owens, both of Shelby; grandchildren, Lindsay Darnell, Daniel Ellis, Jonathan Ellis and Bryant Owens; and many great-grandchildren. A private graveside service will be held in Cleveland Memorial Park with the Rev. Artie Hubbard officiating.
